Army Captain Davis McElwain, 28, poses with some youngsters he met while checking on various U.S. installations in Afghanistan. He's stationed there at Bagram Air Base. McElwain, a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School is the son of Larry McElwain and Jan Kipp McElwain, both of Lawrence.
