A team of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Force Protection military enter Iraq from the southern border with Kuwait. This is one of the first teams to enter Iraq in early 2003 to begin the reconstruction efforts. Ed Rea, center behind the Kansas flag, has been a resident of Lawrence since 1991.
